Frequently Asked Questions

Switching from traditional faxing to online faxing may seem tricky, but it’s easier than you may think. You simply need to:

  1. Select an online fax provider.
  2. Determine how many fax pages you need to send and receive monthly, and choose a plan that meets your needs. You can browse potential plans and their features here.
  3. Sign up for online faxing and select a fax number. If you want to keep your existing fax number, you can port it to your new online faxing provider. The porting process usually takes 4 – 12 weeks, so we suggest you use a temporary online fax number in the meantime.
  4. Download your online faxing provider’s app and sign in. You now have full access to online faxing.

If you have a team that’s used to machine faxing, we recommend conducting a training session to teach your team to use online faxing. Additionally, make sure you dispose of your old fax machine(s) properly through the National Television and Computer Recycling Scheme.

eFax’s cloud faxing solution provides an extremely high level of security that makes it suitable for use in hospitals, aged care facilities, doctors’ offices and pharmacies.

When you send a fax with eFax, eFax encrypts it with Transport Layer Security (TLS) encryption 1.2 to protect it from prying eyes and distributes it through a protected server. TLS is the next step up from Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption.

Faxes stored with eFax are stored in Tier-III data centres with rigorous security standards and AES-256-bit encryption. You can control who sees your faxes with administrator privileges and unique user identification. Someone would need to breach both your computer and faxing system to view your faxes.

In addition, eFax uses the strongest security protocols that the Payment Card Industry (PCI) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recommend.

As a result of all these cybersecurity measures, eFax is HITRUST CSF certified and compliant with HIPAA, HCISPP, the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) act.

Aged care providers today need to handle high volumes of extremely confidential information while providing top-line patient care.

eFax can make juggling these things easier, as it provides a robust, easy-to-use system that handles documents efficiently.

Aged care workers can access eFax from any work device, including smartphones, tablets and computers. This enables them to fax without walking back to the office and wasting precious time on the fax machine. Once you fax a document, you never lose it. eFax stores all documents securely in the cloud and protects them from prying eyes with AES-256-bit encryption.

Digital faxes are paperless, which decreases the cost of office administration and frees up storage space for other things. And, unlike paper, digital faxes work smoothly with other office technologies. Online faxing providers like eFax offer automation with printers and network drives, MFP integration and an API for ERPs, CRMs, EHR and SAP systems.

Ultimately, eFax is perfect for aged care organisations because it’s dependable, secure and reduces administration work.
